On May 2, 2012 Scarlett Johansson was honored with her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Johansson was the receiver of the 2,470th star. The actress who recently starred in The Avengers, a Marvel film, mentioned that she never dreamed to be among the 2,500 famous stars on Hollywood Boulevard.
Johansson, who is a native New Yorker, was accompanied by her mother, grandmother, and sister. “This industry in which I was practically raised has been so impossibly kind to me. There’s never a day where I go to set, and don’t thank my lucky stars to simply be a working actor.” stated Scarlett.
Johansson was also accompanied by recent co-star in The Avengers Jeremy Renner; who played her partner in fighting crime. When he talked about working with her on The Avengers set, he stated, “For six months she continuously threw me around, beat me, stepped on me, and wiped the floor with my dignity and self-respect every day all with a smile on her face. But it was her emotional intelligence and commitment to truth that allowed for me to be a better actor and, as a friend, made me a better man.”
